About

I’m Seongyong Yun. I want to build software that is heavily involved in your lifestyle. While rapidly developing and launching dozens of indie games, I became interested in the IT market. An engineer at Google, one of the big tech companies, advised me not to limit myself to a small business called games, and I've been making more diverse software ever since. As an undergraduate, I majored in visual design and e-business administration. I also have an academic interest in early stage startups and entrepreneurship. I look at the industry from an engineering perspective, but I also try to have a design or financial perspective too.

Co-founded a startup as a teenager and entered university early. I’m interested in social issues as well as personal and corporate development. For example, in 2019, we complained to the South Korean government (Ministry of Education, Ministry of SMEs and Startups) about a measure restricting the participation of youth who had not completed primary and secondary education in a startup competition organized by the government, based on the law, and the relevant ministries were immediately corrected.

South Korean startups are driven by government funding. As a result, startups often pay for cloud services, including AWS, with government funding, and often pay a lot of money without optimization. I believe that this wasted cloud cost is affecting the government's finances and can also affect Korea's trade balance. The Korean startup ecosystem needs the collaboration of industry players, the government, private capital, and all citizens to further develop.

Startups and industry ecosystems need better communities and more communication to thrive. I would like to see the government-centered startup support and association-centered industry ecosystem become more open and transparent.
